I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist specializing in individuals, couples and family therapy, and maintain a private practice in Stockton, California.
I have over 16 years experience as a marriage and family therapist, working in several types of environments and serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients such as, but not limited to: Individuals, Children and Adolescents, Family Systems and Couples working with a wide variety of disorders such as ADHD, Mood Disorders, Depression, Anger issues, Anxiety, Trauma, Abuse, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Trichotillomania, OCD, PICA, Asperger's, Adjustment Disorders, Relationship and Communication Issues, and PTSD.
I n addition to my years in private practice work, I have also spent 9 1/2 years being employed as a full-time Mental Health Clinician for San Joaquin County Behavioral Health, specifically at the Children and Youth Services Department. In addition to individual and family therapy, I have also spent over 3 years of teaching and facilitating court-ordered Domestic Violence and Anger Management groups at a non-profit in Stockton. Prior to becoming a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), I worked as an Academic Advisor on a community college campus assisting CalWorks students realize their educational potential by collaborating on an academic plan of action that would help students achieve a variety of certifications and degrees. I also was an Instructor of Psychology at Heald College in Stockton.
I have vast knowledge of several different types of therapies and am able to employ the modalities that will be most productive for the client. However, my natural approach is that of an interactive, systems-based, solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide education, support, and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges and to become more mindful in their lives. I may also integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client, meeting them where they are with compassion and understanding. I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
